Balkanica is an independent Peruvian fashion and lifestyle brand, committed to merging arts, design and cultural legacy by exploring an eclectic and current sensibility, as well as reinterpreting the country’s rich pre-Hispanic visual cosmovision.
A unique use of color, exclusively designed prints inspired in pre-Columbian symbols, and free-spirited shapes are its hallmark. Balkanica is determined to speak a contemporary language of its own, whilst recognizing its Peruvian and Latin American roots. By this approach, it wants to create pieces that inspire, connect and convey identity, taking us through a visual journey of timeless elegance.
Nature is the main inspiration for the brand’s take on a simple yet striking sophistication. The liveliness of the ocean, the cosiness of coastal life, the enigma of the desert and the lushness of the Amazon have all been natural scenes of its collections. Balkanica thrives on the energy of the sun and hopes to inspire a community of people with its fresh, authentic and colorful soul.

Self-taught, model, art director, stylist and designer, Tania Jelicic is a multifaceted creative. She has worked in film, advertising and scenic arts, before launching her own brand. She considers herself an interpreter of aesthetics, lifestyle and sensations, and that’s why Balkanica isn’t just about fashion: it’s a channel of expression that she has built throughout her restless professional experience.
Balkanica is shaped after Tania’s artistic spirit and therefore has become a creative platform that doesn’t feed on trends, but on the sensitivity of its time. The creative director’s approach to her brand is of an art project in constant evolution: fluid as her own processes and a reflection on her interests. Each collection, each piece are but a way of telling a story. Always personal, always through her eyes.
