Introducing Huarihaus
FW25/26 marks BALKANICA’s first winter collection: a capsule that explores new textures without losing the symbolic thread that defines our identity. The collection emerges from the convergence of two textile traditions that—though distant in time and space—engage in a surprisingly harmonious dialogue: the textile art of the Huari civilization (6th–10th century AD) and the visionary aesthetics of the Bauhaus school (1920), particularly through its pioneering women.
Gunta Stölzl and Anni Albers, key figures in modern textile thought, found in pre Columbian tapestries—such as those of the Huari—a deep source of aesthetic knowledge. Their abstract compositions, bold color palettes, and symbolic weaves reinterpreted ancestral heritage through the lens of modernity.
In this capsule, alpaca fiber is introduced for the first time at BALKANICA. Handcrafted in Peruvian workshops, this ancient fiber embodies a connection to memory, origin, and tradition.

Balkanica is an independent Peruvian fashion and lifestyle brand, committed to merging arts, design and cultural legacy by exploring an eclectic and current sensibility, as well as reinterpreting the country’s rich pre-Hispanic visual cosmovision.
A unique use of color, exclusively designed prints inspired in pre-Columbian symbols, and free-spirited shapes are its hallmark. Balkanica is determined to speak a contemporary language of its own, whilst recognizing its Peruvian and Latin American roots. By this approach, it wants to create pieces that inspire, connect and convey identity, taking us through a visual journey of timeless elegance.
Nature is the main inspiration for the brand’s take on a simple yet striking sophistication. The liveliness of the ocean, the cosiness of coastal life, the enigma of the desert and the lushness of the Amazon have all been natural scenes of its collections.
